Although, in fact, you do not require a consultant to apply for Immigration to Canada, the Immigration Act and related Provincial Immigration regulations are very complex and with many rules and policies that constantly change. The expert knowledge of these immigration regulations that Pathfinder's consultants have, may be the difference between a successful process or one not only tainted by failure, but disappointment and unnecessary expense.
At Pathfinder, our immigration consultants, as licensed members of the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC - http://www.csic-scci.ca/indexE.html), are bound by a strict code of ethics. The CSIC is the body "responsible for regulating the activities of immigration consultants who are members and who provide immigration advice for a fee. In addition, the Society is responsible for ensuring the education and competency testing of its members." The CSIC was created for the protection of the consumer. Effective April 2004 no Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) officials will deal with any fee-charging immigration consultants who are not licensed members of CSIC.
