The Skilled Worker Class was designed for individuals who, because they have education, work experience, knowledge of English and/or French and other abilities, are able to become economically established in Canada and contribute to Canada's economic growth and development.

To be accepted as a Skilled Worker, applicants must:

1. Meet the minimum work experience requirements of a year of full-time work within the past ten years in one of the occupations listed in the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
2. Earn a minimum of 67 points in the six selection factors:

4. Pass a medical examination. This applies to the main applicant and all immigrating family members.
