The immigration processing time of all world-wide visa offices is approximately 18 months for applications where a selection interview is required. Depending on the circumstances of the case, and the existing caseload in the Canadian visa post at which the application must be submitted, processing time may be as short as 6 months or as long as 42 months.

In the past, it was possible to pick a visa office where you preferrred to have your application processing done. This is no longer allowed. The visa post to which you are assigned is the one to which you must go.

Although Immigration Consultants or Lawyers do not have any influence over the length of time the processing of an application will take, unnecessary delays are avoided when properly prepared applications with all supporting documentation and fees are presented to the Visa offices. In fact, if the application is submitted and presented properly, interviews at the visa office are often waived.
